Destination Wedding Photographer manchester
Here are a few tips that may help you when looking for a destination wedding photographer.
Although I had never been the kind of girl to dream about getting married, I’d always said ‘If, and a BIIIIG if, I ever got married, it would have to be some place super nice like on a beach abroad‘.
Fast forward to 2016 and I found I was getting married. Since the husband is a Kiwi (no not literally, he’s a New Zealander), we ended up having the civil ceremony over in New Zealand on a beach.
As a Manchester wedding photographer, I was half tempted to try and take the photos myself!
But albeit we hired a photographer local to Auckland to shoot the elopement.
We got married right there on the beach with my sister and his sister as witnesses for the ceremony.
I could’t have asked for a better experience.
It was intimate, quiet, and warm!
What more could a girl ask for ?
Which leads me to talking about hiring a destination wedding photographer.
For us, it was much easier since Kalpesh was a local in Auckland. I found a photographer I was happy with in terms of the style of work and we did a Skype consult. Kalpesh was then able to get the photos after I had returned back to Manchester.
However, it’s not always the case for many couples when getting married abroad.
Fly Your Photographer To The Destination Wedding
Trusting and knowing your wedding photographer before the wedding is so important. Your wedding day will be one of the biggest days of your life, and there’s just no guarantee the wedding photographer hired by the venue is a good match for you. Working with the wrong photographer can really impact the photos and your day as you may not feel at ease with them. A relationship between photographer and couple should flow nicely. A great idea would be to fly your photographer to the destination wedding. If a wedding photographer offers to be your destination wedding photographer, they will be able to offer a photography package to what you want on the day & so why not have a chat and see what arrangements can be made.
How To Find A Destination Wedding Photographer
Finding a destination wedding photographer isn’t that difficult. Whilst on the search for the perfect wedding photographer for your wedding day, book mark your favourite photographers websites & then drop them an email enquiring about destination weddings. It’s really as simple as that. Some photographers state on their website whether they offer destination weddings and some may not. If you don’t ask, you don’t get right?!
Destination Wedding Photographer Cost
Usually a wedding photographer would charge you the normal day rate plus travel expenses and costs which may include;
- Flights – To and from Destination
- Hotel accommodation during the stay
- Transport
- Food & Drink costs during the stay
Having beautiful photos from your wedding day is something that you’ll absolutely love.
You won’t regret investing in a fantastic photographer that you love the work of.
I look back at our wedding photos now and realise just how quick it all goes by and feel lucky we had amazing photographers at both weddings do a great job for us. When Dylan is older, we have photos he can look through too for years to come.
Hiring a photographer that has experience and that you trust is one of the best decision you will make!
