Commitment to your Privacy
If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you’re wondering what happens to any data that’s sent my way. You can be rest assured I’m totally committed to keeping your details private.
Here’s Priti Shikotra Photography’s commitment to the GDPR
What Information I Collect
You’re probably on the look out for a wedding photographer hence why you’ve ended up on the website ?
So we can talk all things wedding, I ask for some information. Don’t worry, none of your details are held on the website. The information I request is as follows;
Name – This is always helpful so I know who I’m speaking to ?
Email – I generally get back to you on email as next steps, after you have requested further information about wedding photography options
Phone – This is usually to drop you a text or call to follow up in the case the email reply ends up in your junk mail. The phone number is also used on the wedding day to stay in contact pre-wedding and any other communication on the run up to the day.
Address – This is for communication after the wedding so I can send your photos from the day back to you at the chosen address.
Date of Wedding – To check availability for your chosen day!
How did you hear about me – This is used to find out where you found about the photography services I offer and helps me with my marketing methods so I can work with more awesome clients like you
Type of Enquiry – Self explanatory – I can’t help if I don’t know which photoshoot you are after!
More about yourselves and the wedding – This is to get to know about you and your day a bit more to get a picture of how it will be on the day!
What I do with this Information
The information comes through on email and and is transferred to a spreadsheet where I can basically follow up on communication with you. The data is stored on a laptop and an external hard drive as a back up, these are password protected to a high level and only accessible by me. If I’m working with a second shooter on the day, the information will be shared with him/her for the purpose of the wedding photoshoot and nothing else.
If your wedding is featured to a wedding blog or publication, your information will be used at this point, in most cases just your names. If the wedding is to be published anywhere, I’ll clarify you are happy for this to happen prior to the wedding being featured so you can yay or nay.
Sometimes I may get in contact offering you a promotion or more information on getting your wedding photos printed or even a surprise gift!
But don’t worry, the data won’t end up anywhere else.
Right to Access, Rectification and Erasure
To be honest, your rights are the same as before – If you wanted access to information on what data I hold for you, just drop me an email, call me or pop over for a cheeky Jack Daniels and coke. If you want me to amend or delete anything, just let me know by requesting it in writing and I’ll get right on it. You probably won’t ask me to do this though because I won’t know where to be for your big day! Once the photos are with you, you can just let me know if you want me to erase all your data.
How I use Photos of you
As a photographer, I take awesome photos of you which you usually swoon over later. Once the images are back with you, I use the photos on social media platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and my website right here. You more than likely found me through one of these channels and so you can probably imagine how important it is for my business to do this. I do always state in the contract the uses and of course if you prefer not to have them shared or have names removed, this is totally fine too. Just let me know in advance. By booking a wedding photographer for your day, I’d assume all guests are happy for photos to be taken, however if for any reason some guests can’t / don’t want to be photographed, please let me know in advance and that’s totally fine too. There’s not any crazy rules about photos being GDPR so I think we are all good. The photos are kept for 6 years from the date of wedding then they are no longer kept, it is up to to make sure you have back up copies for usage, I always recommend this right away just incase!
GRPR Compliance
I try to keep up to date with the latest legislation and I’m proactively working towards being fully GDPR compliant. Of course if anything changes within the EU, I’ll go ahead and revisit this and make lots of changes to this!
