Alternative wedding photography Manchester.It’s crazy how the journey started into the photography industry for me.After finishing university in Manchester and backpacking around Australia,parts of Asia,Hong Kong & Tokyo I landed back in Manchester to the lovely 2008 recession.
It took the best part of the year to find even a part time job and during this time it was a blessing in disguise to be able to explore photography as a potential income earner.
I started shooting weddings on a budget to bulk my portfolio up & from there I continued shooting live music and portrait sessions – the rest they say is history.
When you hire a photographer it’s all these years of experience you are paying for that took hours and a lot of struggle to build. Whether it’s someone like me who couldn’t find a job and took the chance, or whether it’s a new mum or who wants to work around her kids or perhaps someone who has just had it with the day job and wants to finally set up business and go it alone.We all started somewhere and carved our way in the industry however we could to get to where we are.
In this blog post I really wanted to share with you some of the music photography I’ve had the opportunity to shoot.Past couples have gone on to hire me as they’ve seen something different in the images I shoot which I feel really comes from shooting live music and portraits.
After very many late nights and learning through trial and error I’ve gained many amazing clients including Kerrang! Magazine,NME Magazine,Manchester International Festival,BMG Records and many more.
